Ferrari’s Collectibles Exhibition during Salone del Mobile in Milan

On the occasion of Salone del Mobile in Milan, we created a temporary exhibition for Ferrari’s flagship store. Ferrari Collectibles: ‘Born for Speed, Reborn for Beauty’ transforms the boutique’s atrium and basement into a minimalist gallery-like space that charts the brand’s story through a curated selection of historical design objects.

Placing attention on Ferrari’s legacy of innovation and elegant craftsmanship, the installation strips back its complex machines into their most essential parts, each ‘collectible’ a tangible fragment of the brand’s heritage.

Framed by the window display and viewable from the street, the centrepiece hangs in the atrium; an exploded view of an engine framed by a theatrical curtain. Animated by light, the power of the 500kg engine – the heart of a car – is the focal point of the store.

Rendered in neutral tones, the design takeover of the basement draws its cues from Ferrari’s visual language with touches of brush steel and aluminium. A series of modular plinths and niches in the wall forefront the objects, accented by fragments of information that offer details of each collectible.

A big screen hosts content related to the creation of the objects on display, plotting Ferrari’s iconic approach to engineering through its milestones across history.
