An immersive lounge installation for Farfetch x Art Basel

As part of this year’s Art Basel Miami Beach, we created an immersive lounge installation for Farfetch. Celebrating the endless possibilities of self-expression through fashion is at the core of the global platform, so we created an interactive space that responds to each unique individual that enters it, mirroring what the brand does online.

The design of the space itself plays on the curvature of the brand’s logo, making tangible their online presence. Translating Farfetch’s digital offerings into a physical space, the experience revolves around the idea of choice – both highlighting the personal style of the guests and reflecting something new back.

As guests step in front of the central LED panels that line the space, a camera detects the colours of their outfit then matches it with crops of images from the FARFETCH database.

Each visitor generates a different visual collage, composed in a grid of colour-matched crops that eventually fades into an abstract haze before diffusing across the rest of the screens. Shifting with the distinct style of each guest that enters, the room is constantly animated by whoever is in it, awash with a digital echo of different colour palettes.
